Excursion: Libraries

July 2016

The Latino Family Center and Arts Excursions Unlimited joined together for a day of library tours throughout the region.

We visited four distinct libraries each with their own specialties and resources. Our day began at CLP-Downtown with an introduction to the business and career resources available at this branch. Then we had in- depth tour of the Main Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. There are an abundance of programs, resources, archives, and collections at this multistory location.

We headed to the Mon Valley to visit the dynamic and art centric headquarters of the Braddock Carnegie Library which just happens to be the very first library Andrew Carnegie built in the U.S.

Our last stop took us across the Monongahela River to the Carnegie of Homestead Library that has a fitness center, swimming pool, and theater.

This tour featured Spanish translation.
